Trouble is, that's almost all I can remember about it. I can only recall three of the illustrations: most relevant is one of two tyrannosaurs (+ pterosaur!) that at the least looks very similar to the Mark Hallett version:

(There's a good chance they're one and the same, though I don't remember if the one in the book seemed as modern, and I hope I'm not confusing it with an illustration from another half-forgotten book).
The other two I can remember include a side view of a pair of toothy-looking plateosaurs or other prosauropods, one on all fours, one rearing at a cycad; and a double-spread scene of a fairly lush (cretaceous?) landscape with various creatures scattered about, including a large snake, and a tyrannosaur(?) peering from thick forest on a hillside to the left.
It might be a long shot, but does that ring a bell with anyone?
